It's been CRAZY...and I mean CRAZY for us in the Larson home. I'm updating you on a few activities that we've been involved with in the past month. I am pooped! But happy:) Here's a little view into our lives starting with a Harvest Party in the Canyon... that's a hand-grown pumpkin by our dear friends in their garden! Simon and his best buddy, Cade, on Holloween night. Making that wig (or dredlocks) was a pain....Simon is suppose to look like "Sid the Science Kid"...if you haven't watched it, it is awesome! The night was full of eating, trick-or-treating, laughing, playing, and lots of memories that Little Man is still talking about...

Halloween Party with all of Simon's friends! He's the one in the red sweatshirt who looks a little confused.... A quick birthday party for the most darling 5 year-old who lives in a shelter. Dave is the facilitator of an outreach club at his school that brings cupcakes, gifts and celebrates birthday parties for children who are in great need. It blessed the socks of me to be in their presence...so precious and full of joy!

Bringing the gals from SCC to Isaiah's House to do manicures...no matter how busy, I still enjoy my time with those sweethearts. They are gentle, mellow-mannered, and thankful for anyone who gives them time and a smile.

Making zuchinni pumpkin pancakes in between sewing, phone calls for the boutique, emails, cleaning, playing, picking up, and brushing my teeth somewhere in there so I can kiss my husband...

A LONG couple of months preparing for our church's Holiday Boutique that I helped put on. Hours upon hours of time was put towards this event. In my opinion, it was a success! People were welcomed, offered yummy treats, they seemed happy and content...that was the goal! We raised about $600 and are grateful to God for every penny. The more important part was that the women who came felt like they were in a place of peace and joy in our church. My bubsies booth did pretty well to...but I still have a lot to sell...Keep Shopping!!

Ending with a soccer game today where I FORGOT to bring snack for the Team!!!! (Bad Mommy)! We sprused Simon up for his Team photo...you can tell he is tired too (he's on the right)! He's been a trooper with his mommy...we ended with a nice family day today...a much over-do day together. Can't wait to get back in the routine and hangin' out with my little man.

All in all, I am beyond thankful for being sustained with strength, peace, and perseverance during the most INSANE season of my life. Not one family member got the "swine flu," I rested well at night, I made some dough to pay for Christmas presents this year, I have a home, food on the table, and friends and family who love me...what else can I ask for...no really, what else can I ask for? Nothing! This is it! I am blessed...I have joy in my heart...and I have a Savior who wants the very best for my life. He never said it would be easy, but He did say He would walk with every step of the Way! Be encouraged...We have a Good and Mighty God who wants the best for all of us!

A little known fact about us...

As some of you know, my little Simon was diagnosed with severe food allergies when he was 15mos old. Simon has a long baby medical history with gastrointestinal issues that I won't go into, but it is quite a testimony for a little guy. Anyway... he has been on a gluten-free, wheat, dairy, corn, casein, whey, and so on FREE diet ever since. Once we found out was was causing him pain and severe acid reflux, we nipped it in the bud and got him on this special diet. Long story short...he is the healthiest litte dude around! No candy, soda, heavy sugars, and lots more...But he is not deprived at all! There are tons of food companies that sell great products that satisfy sweet-tooths and more.

I found this great book on food allergies and a kid's gluten-free diet at the library. It is the coolest book ever (for little Simon)! It talks about what happens, what you can eat, the good that comes from it, the difficulties with being "different," and even how friends are so understanding, and how it's actually kind of cool to be different. He LOVED it! He wanted me to read it over and over again! He knows he is loved, that he's being taken care of, that he gets to have cookies like everyone else, and that although he's different, that is how God made him and...his story isn't over yet! He may possibly grow out of these food allergies. He may possibly be fine, just like the other kids. But for now...Simon is perfect! And he is Loved! And he is ours! Thank you, Lord!

Tutu from memorable wedding veil

I was asked to make a tutu from this veil that was shared by two friends, Erin and Megan. Well..it was Megan's daughter's birthday, and I made her the tutu from her mama's wedding. Very special and hopefully a cherished treasure! Great idea, Erin!

Holiday Boutique Fundraiser

I am putting on a Holiday Boutique Fundraiser at my church on Nov.12th. The proceeds will be going to our Women's Ministry and SoCal Connected, which is an outreach group that my close friends and us started a couple of years ago. We aim to "reach out and meet the needs" in our local community. These pics are of the two main outreach projects that we are consistently working with. Lighthouse is a Ministry for those with Special Needs (ages teen and up). It's AWESOME!!!! We have SO much fun there, you wouldn't believe it! (I'm in the pink shirt in the back of that pic). The other pics are of Isaiah's House which is the home of about 60-80 homeless women. We bring groups and do games, kareoke, and manicures for the ladies. It is such a blessing to be part of these women's lives and build relationships with them. We learn so much from them and walk away with gratitude for all that we have!

A Day of Firsts...

Today was Simon's very first Team experience ever! He started soccer through the YMCA (very non-competitive), and really ended up loving it. Trying "new" things has always been hard for little guy, but we saw huge growth from the sreaming fit to put his uniform on when we first got there, to the end when he didn't want to leave! It's so great to see him growing up! Then...we went bowling (as a reward) for the first time!!! I know...I planned both on purpose- what was I thinking??! No really, it was the best day as a fam and we were blessed to be together, especially during a busy season in our lives. There's always work to do at home with a hubby as a teacher, but sometimes you gotta set it aside and be together! Precious, special memories...and more to come!
